Communication is
human nature.
A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
Before COMS, I spent years working at the intersection of design, marketing, and business. My background in fine art and photography taught me how to evaluate, question, and communicate visually. My career in marketing taught me what happens when that work leaves the designer’s screen and has to perform in the real world, where it needs to communicate clearly, support the business, and hold up across different audiences and applications.
I’ve worked from inside businesses, not just outside of them. I know what it’s like to build the presentation, update the template, work with leadership, coordinate the vendor, protect the brand, meet the deadline, and still make sure the final thing looks like someone cared, understood the assignment, and paid attention to the details that shape how the business is perceived.
That perspective is built into COMS. The work is approached creatively, but always with an understanding of the people who have to use it and the business it has to represent. That’s why I built COMS, and it’s the standard I bring to every project that comes through the door.

What COMS means.
A logo communicates. A proposal communicates. A presentation, website, sign, report, social post, package, photograph
—even the things a business doesn't necessarily think of as “design”—say something about who it is.
The tools we use to make those things have changed dramatically, but the reason we make them hasn't.
We're still trying to communicate something from one person to another.
Technology should help us communicate, not decide how we communicate.
Design should still involve judgment, context, personality, and an understanding of the people on both sides of it.
While the tools we use will continue to evolve, the need for thoughtful,
human communication remains the same.
SO, WHAT MAKES COMS, COMS?
An in-house
Perspective
COMS was built from experience working within internal marketing teams, bringing firsthand knowledge of leadership priorities, internal workflows, deadlines, vendors, and approvals. We understand what it takes to create the work—and what it takes to put that work into practice across a business.
Multidisciplinary
by nature
COMS sits at the intersection of brand, graphic design, marketing, photography, and visual communication. That range gives us a broader perspective on how a business presents itself, allowing us to connect disciplines and consider the complete picture rather than approaching each need in isolation.
Creativity
without silos
Rather than starting with an aesthetic and finding somewhere to apply it, COMS starts with the business itself. Its personality, audience, goals, environment, and existing equity inform what the visual direction becomes, allowing the creative work to develop from the business.
Not a
traditional agency
COMS offers the expertise of a creative partner without the layers of a traditional agency. You work directly with the person behind the work, keeping communication straightforward, decisions efficient, and the relationship close from the first conversation through the final completed deliverable.

so it should do it well.”
